A Busy Couple Of Days

Where do I begin... My husband has been down with a very painful pinched nerve, so along with household duties I had to take over some yard work and care for our mini-farm. As I was feeding and watering our rabbits and chickens, I was surprised by three new additions to our menagerie.
I have also been busy in my sewing room, and taking care of my flower garden. Phew, I'm tired 😂

Gladiolus too pretty to leave outside.

and one more project, sanding this utility cart to ready for painting. The cart was just collecting dust in our basement, and thanks to Pinterest I found that these carts make for great use in sewing rooms. Until next time......

I Love My #SewSamplerBox

It is such a treat to get this in the mail every month. This is May's box, I'm a little behind.

My Tuesday was spent not only working on some quilts, but also rearranging my sewing room to make ready a space for the table my husband is making out of an old treadle. We've had so much rain, that I haven't been able to work in my flower garden, however I did manage to bring in some African Fire Lilies during a break in the weather.

They paid a debt they did not owe, we owe a debt we cannot pay. #MemorialDay

You're never too old to learn something new. I use my embroidery machine  to piece quilts as well, and found an easier way to help with the bulk. While stitching the excess is folded under the free arm ( it shifted while taking the pic, it's actually more under the free arm than this), and I only have to give it a little tug as I am sewing. Just be sure that it is smooth with no puckers as you stitch.

After a week of rain (and another week in the forecast), my flowers are beginning to bloom. Also blooming (pun) is a scrappy quilt that I am currently working on, and I just finished adding a scrappy border.

Even though today has been a pain-filled day for the most part ( I have Fibromyalgia ), I managed to work a little bit on two of my quilts in progress. The square in a square is for me, and the red/gray (school colors) chevron is for my softball playing granddaughter.

I mentioned that I am a quilter, so I thought I should share some of the quilts I've made recently. I am by no stretch of the imagination a professional quilter,(at least not at this time.) I am however in love with quilting! Enjoy!

Quilting is my first love, but after that is growing flowers and caring for them. Growing flowers could be considered crafty, right?

Before and after pics of my sewing table, that my husband painted and cut out area for my sewing machine to sit flush with the table. I love it! I have so much more space for quilting!

I thought I'd start off my "crafty" blog with some pics from around my sewing room, it is a work always in progress just like my quilts.
